Aaron Vesey holds degrees in mathematics, physics, and philosophy from the Universities of Wisconsin and Minnesota, and has extensive experience in both futures studies and the philosophy of science. He has taught philosophy of science, philosophy of physics, ethical theory, and political philosophy. As a founding member of the Institute of Futures Research, Aaron is dedicated to promoting original philosophy of futures studies research among the community, and establishing the philosophy of futures studies as a mature, dynamic, and independent academic discipline. His research interests include epistemological issues in futures studies and artificial intelligence, value alignment in algorithmic systems, and understanding the varieties of technological singularity in the extant literature.
